Online 1-on-1 paramedical camouflage course, live on Zoom for US artists

Private, live training with Evelyn Alvares Vega for licensed PMU artists, tattoo artists, estheticians and nurses in the United States. Scar camouflage, stretch mark camouflage and skin-tone colour matching, taught one-on-one from wherever you work.

Evelyn teaching paramedical camouflage technique

Who this course is for

This is advanced, one-on-one training in paramedical skin camouflage: the use of cosmetic tattooing to blend pale scars, stretch marks and some areas of lighter skin toward the surrounding skin tone. It is built for people who already work on skin and want to add camouflage to what they offer.

  • Permanent makeup (PMU) artists who already understand pigment and machine work and want to move from brows and lips to body work
  • Tattoo artists who get asked about scar cover-ups and want a skin-toned approach rather than a design
  • Estheticians and medical spa staff who already see clients with scars and stretch marks
  • Nurses and other health professionals moving into aesthetic work

Most of our US students already hold a tattoo, body art or permanent cosmetics license or registration where they work, or are getting one. If you are brand new to skin work, tell us on the call. Evelyn will be honest about whether this course, or an earlier step, makes more sense for you.

What you learn

The curriculum follows the same path Evelyn teaches at the SKINEAV Academy in Vaughan, Ontario, adapted for a one-on-one screen session:

  • Camouflage basics: what camouflage can and cannot do, and how to tell a good candidate from a poor one
  • Skin and scar theory: how scars and stretch marks form, why they look lighter, and how healed, stable tissue behaves differently from normal skin
  • Machine, needles and ink: machine set-up, needle choice, depth and hand speed for delicate tissue
  • Pigment chemistry: what is in camouflage pigment, how it heals and why colour can shift over time
  • Colour matching to skin tones: reading undertones and mixing custom shades across the full range of skin tones, from very fair to deep
  • Practice on practice skin: drills on synthetic skin, with Evelyn watching your hand and your mix on camera
  • Consultation and safety: intake questions, patch tests, consent, contraindications and aftercare instructions
  • Running the service: marketing, photographing your work, pricing your own sessions and spacing sessions out

You can read more about the theory side in colour theory for camouflage artists and skin anatomy for camouflage artists.

How live 1:1 Zoom training works

Every session is live with Evelyn, who has more than ten years of paramedical tattooing experience and was invited to share camouflage education at WULOP Canada 2026. Nothing is pre-recorded. You see her demonstrate close up, then you work while she watches and corrects you in real time.

  • One student, one educator: the pace follows your experience, not a group
  • A second camera or phone stand pointed at your hands, so Evelyn sees what you see
  • Sessions booked across several days so you have time to practise in between
  • Questions answered as they come up, including about your own clients' cases

Tuition: from $2,997 USD

Tuition for the online 1:1 Zoom course is $2,997 USD. That covers your live one-on-one sessions with Evelyn, the full curriculum above, your SKINEAV Certificate of Completion and six months of mentorship. With the training kit shipped to you in the US, tuition is $3,697 USD.

Payment plans are available, for example a $500 deposit to reserve your spot, then 3 payments of $999, through Square or PayPal in US dollars.

The course is taught live online over Zoom by Evelyn from Canada. SKINEAV has no US location, so there is nowhere to travel to.

Practice skins and the kit option

You can train with your own machine and supplies, or ask about a training kit. For US students, we prefer to arrange the kit through US suppliers where possible, so it reaches you without a cross-border shipment. Evelyn will go through what is in the kit and what you already have on the free call, so you do not buy twice.

Certificate of Completion: what it is and what it is not

When you finish, you receive a SKINEAV Certificate of Completion. It records that you completed Evelyn's paramedical camouflage training.

It is not a state license. In the US, tattooing and permanent cosmetics are regulated by states, counties and cities, and the rules vary a lot. Some states license individual artists, some license only studios, and some leave it to local health departments. You are responsible for following the rules where you work. Our state guides link to official agency pages for Florida, Texas, California, Arizona and Nevada.

Six months of mentorship

Training does not stop at the last session. For six months you can send Evelyn photos of your practice work and your client cases, ask about difficult colour matches, and get feedback before you take on something new. See what mentorship after a camouflage course looks like.

Training from the US: time zones, payment and what you need

SKINEAV is based near Toronto, on Eastern Time. That means no time difference for East Coast artists, one hour for Central, two for Mountain and three for Pacific. We book sessions in your local time and confirm both times in writing.

  • Payment: in US dollars, through Square or PayPal. Payment plans are available, for example a $500 deposit + 3 x $999.
  • Equipment: a laptop or tablet with Zoom, a stable internet connection, a phone or second camera on a stand, good light, and your machine or the kit
  • Workspace: a clean table where you can set up practice skin and pigments

Choose your state

Each state guide covers how tattoo and permanent cosmetics rules work there at a high level, links to the official agency, and how scheduling works from your time zone:

In another state? You can still apply. Tell us where you work and we will point you to the right official body.

Licensing note: the SKINEAV Certificate of Completion shows you finished Evelyn's training. It is not a state license, permit or registration. Before you tattoo anyone in the US, check and follow the rules of your state, county and city.
