Paramedical camouflage course for New Jersey artists, live 1:1 on Zoom
One-on-one scar and stretch mark camouflage training on Zoom for artists in Newark, Jersey City, Hoboken, Paramus, Princeton, the Shore and across New Jersey. Live with Evelyn, same time zone.

Camouflage training for New Jersey artists
New Jersey is the most densely populated state in the country, and its beauty market is shaped by two big neighbours: New York City and Philadelphia. Bergen County, Hudson County and the suburbs along the Turnpike are packed with med spas, cosmetic surgeons and PMU studios, and many clients would rather find a skilled artist near home than travel into Manhattan.
The SKINEAV 1:1 Zoom course teaches New Jersey artists how to assess scars and stretch marks, mix pigment that matches each client and work safely on healed scar tissue. It is live, private training with Evelyn.
Tuition: $2,997 USD for the live online 1:1 Zoom course taught from Canada, or $3,697 USD with the training kit shipped to the US. Payment plans are available, e.g. $500 deposit + 3 x $999. See the US course page for what is included.
How body art rules work in New Jersey
New Jersey sets state-wide body art rules in N.J.A.C. 8:27, the chapter that covers tattooing, permanent cosmetics and piercing. The rules were repealed and replaced with a new version in 2022.
At a high level, the chapter says an operator must apply to the local health authority for approval before building or operating a body art establishment, listing the practitioners and the body art disciplines they will perform. The local health authority inspects every establishment at least once a year. County and municipal health departments, such as Monmouth and Gloucester counties, publish their own application forms and fees.
Contact the health department for the town where you will work before offering camouflage. The SKINEAV Certificate of Completion is proof of training. It is not a New Jersey approval or permit and does not replace any requirement.

What New Jersey artists ask before enrolling
"Do I need my own establishment?" Not necessarily. Many artists work as practitioners in an approved establishment. The operator lists practitioners with the local health authority, so talk to your studio first.
"Will camouflage work for my summer Shore clients?" Sun and tanning change how a match looks. The course covers sun protection and aftercare; see sun protection after camouflage.
Scheduling from New Jersey
New Jersey is on Eastern Time, the same as Evelyn in Toronto. There is no time difference, and both change clocks on the same dates.
What New Jersey artists ask before enrolling
"I'm licensed in New York but live in New Jersey. Can I work in both?" Each state, and in New Jersey each local health authority, sets its own rules. Approval in one does not carry over to the other, so check with the authority for every place you plan to work.
"How do I explain camouflage to clients who compare everything online?" New Jersey clients often research across NYC, Philadelphia and local studios. The course covers a clear, honest consultation: camouflage blends and softens, usually takes more than one session, and is not right for every scar.
What a training week can look like from New Jersey
Many New Jersey students keep full studio calendars, so sessions often fall on quieter weekday mornings. One session focuses on colour theory and assessment, the other on live practice on practice skin with Evelyn correcting your angle and depth on camera. Between sessions you build a consent form, an aftercare sheet and a photo setup with consistent lighting, all reviewed with Evelyn.
Your first camouflage clients in New Jersey
Most New Jersey graduates start with existing clients, often brow or lip clients who mention a scar or stretch marks. With a small consent-based portfolio, you can then approach plastic surgeons in Bergen, Morris and Monmouth counties, many of whom see patients asking what can be done after surgery. The course covers how to present your work honestly and when to send a client back to a doctor first.
How the course fits a New Jersey beauty business
Because New Jersey approvals sit with local health authorities and named establishments, most students add camouflage inside the studio or med spa where they already practise.
The course covers the full basics of camouflage, learning on practice skin, theory, machine and ink, pigment chemistry basics, and the business side: finding your audience, building a pricing strategy you set yourself, and spacing sessions properly. You can add the training kit, you receive a SKINEAV Certificate of Completion, and you get six months of mentorship with Evelyn afterwards. It does not promise clients or income. It gives you a skill, a method and someone to ask when a real case comes in.
See the US course overview for the full curriculum and format.
Licensing note: the SKINEAV Certificate of Completion shows you finished Evelyn's training. It is not a state license, permit or registration. Before you tattoo anyone in the US, check and follow the rules of your state, county and city.
