Paramedical camouflage course for Illinois artists, live 1:1 on Zoom
One-on-one scar and stretch mark camouflage training on Zoom for artists in Chicago, Naperville, Aurora, Rockford, Springfield and across Illinois. Live with Evelyn, one hour behind Toronto.

Camouflage training for Illinois artists
Chicago is the beauty capital of the Midwest. The Gold Coast, River North and the North Shore suburbs have a dense mix of plastic surgeons, dermatology practices and med spas, and permanent makeup has grown quickly across Cook, DuPage and Lake counties.
Camouflage is still rare in the region compared with brows and lips. Clients with surgical scars, stretch marks or lighter patches often struggle to find someone local who does it. The SKINEAV 1:1 Zoom course teaches Illinois artists the full process, from assessment and colour matching to technique on scar tissue, live and one-on-one with Evelyn.
Tuition: $2,997 USD for the live online 1:1 Zoom course taught from Canada, or $3,697 USD with the training kit shipped to the US. Payment plans are available, e.g. $500 deposit + 3 x $999. See the US course page for what is included.
How body art registration works in Illinois
Illinois regulates body art mainly at the establishment level. According to the Illinois Department of Public Health, the Tattoo and Body Piercing Establishment Registration Act (410 ILCS 54) and the Body Art Code (77 Ill. Adm. Code 797) require every establishment that offers body art, including tattooing and permanent makeup such as microblading, to be registered with the Department, with an inspection before services begin.
At a high level, IDPH explains that the location holds the registration, not the individual artist. Artists must provide proof of education, including bloodborne pathogen training that meets OSHA standards, and the registration holder decides whether an artist is proficient to work under it. IDPH also states that permanent makeup does not fall under a cosmetology or esthetics license, so body art must be kept separate from those services. Cities and counties, including Chicago, may add their own business and zoning requirements.
The SKINEAV Certificate of Completion can be part of the proof of education you show an establishment, but it is not an Illinois registration and does not replace one.
Real training moments

Where Illinois camouflage clients are
- Chicago: the Gold Coast, River North, Lincoln Park and a huge, diverse city population
- North Shore and western suburbs: Evanston, Oak Brook, Naperville and Schaumburg med spas
- Rockford, Peoria and Champaign: big populations with almost no camouflage specialists
- Springfield and the Metro East: clients who currently travel to Chicago or St. Louis
Midwestern winters also change skin colour across the year. Read how colour matches can change over time.

What Illinois artists ask before enrolling
"I'm a licensed esthetician. Can I just add camouflage to my menu?" In Illinois, IDPH says permanent makeup sits under body art registration, not esthetics, so you would need to work from a registered body art establishment. The course gives you the skill; the setting has to meet the state's rules.
"How do I handle clients whose skin is paler in winter?" The course covers seasonal colour shifts and why it is safer to match conservatively and build up over sessions.
Scheduling from Illinois
Illinois is on Central Time, one hour behind Evelyn in Toronto. A 9 a.m. session in Chicago is 10 a.m. in Toronto. Both places change clocks on the same dates, so the one-hour gap stays the same all year. Times are confirmed in writing in both zones.
How the course fits a Illinois beauty business
Because Illinois registers the establishment, most students add camouflage inside a registered studio where they already work, or plan the move into one before taking clients.
The course covers the full basics of camouflage, learning on practice skin, theory, machine and ink, pigment chemistry basics, and the business side: finding your audience, building a pricing strategy you set yourself, and spacing sessions properly. You can add the training kit, you receive a SKINEAV Certificate of Completion, and you get six months of mentorship with Evelyn afterwards. It does not promise clients or income. It gives you a skill, a method and someone to ask when a real case comes in.
See the US course overview for the full curriculum and format.
Licensing note: the SKINEAV Certificate of Completion shows you finished Evelyn's training. It is not a state license, permit or registration. Before you tattoo anyone in the US, check and follow the rules of your state, county and city.
