Camouflage training for Kansas artists
Kansas has two very different beauty markets. Johnson County, on the Kansas side of the Kansas City metro, is one of the wealthiest suburban areas in the Midwest, with Overland Park, Leawood and Olathe full of med spas and brow studios. Wichita, the state's largest city, has its own strong medical community and a loyal local client base. Topeka, Lawrence and Manhattan add hospital and university markets. In all of them, artists who can camouflage scars and stretch marks are still rare.
The SKINEAV 1:1 Zoom course teaches licensed Kansas artists the full process in private live sessions with Evelyn: scar assessment, custom colour matching, safe technique on healed scar tissue and consultations that set honest expectations.
Tuition: $2,997 USD for the live online 1:1 Zoom course taught from Canada, or $3,697 USD with the training kit shipped to the US. Payment plans are available, e.g. $500 deposit + 3 x $999. See the US course page for what is included.
How cosmetic tattoo licensing works in Kansas
Kansas is unusual: body art is licensed by the Kansas Board of Cosmetology, which issues separate licenses for tattoo artists, cosmetic tattoo artists and body piercers, plus apprentice and trainer licenses and establishment licenses. The cosmetic tattoo license is the one most PMU artists hold.
At a high level, K.S.A. 65-1943 asks applicants to be at least 18 with a high school diploma or equivalent, complete a training program under a board-approved trainer in the area of practice they are applying for, perform at least 50 completed procedures, complete eight board-approved hours in infection control and bloodborne pathogens, and pass a board-recognised examination. Licenses are renewed every two years with five further hours of approved infection control education. The board also inspects establishments before licensing them.
Because the board separates tattooing from cosmetic tattooing, ask it which license covers camouflage on scars and stretch marks on the body before you offer it. The SKINEAV Certificate of Completion is proof of training. It is not a Kansas license, and it does not replace the board's training or procedure requirements.

What Kansas artists ask before enrolling
"I'm a Kansas apprentice. Can I take the course now?" You can learn theory and practise on practice skin at any stage, but client work stays within your apprentice license and under your board-approved trainer. Talk to your trainer first.
"I hold a cosmetic tattoo license. Can I do body camouflage on it?" Ask the board. Kansas licenses tattooing and cosmetic tattooing separately, so get a clear answer in writing before offering camouflage on the body.
"Do the course hours count toward my 50 procedures or my eight infection control hours?" No. Those requirements are set and approved by the board. The SKINEAV course is advanced specialist training, not a substitute.
Scheduling from Kansas
Most of Kansas is on Central Time, one hour behind Toronto. A few counties on the Colorado border use Mountain Time, two hours behind. A 10 a.m. session in Wichita is 11 a.m. for Evelyn. Session times are confirmed in writing in both zones.
What a training week can look like from Kansas
A typical week mixes one theory session on undertone, scar assessment and when to refer a client to their doctor with one live practice session on practice skin while Evelyn watches on camera and corrects your technique. Between sessions you build a consultation form, a consent process and an aftercare sheet that suit your establishment.
Your first camouflage clients in Kansas
Most Kansas graduates begin with existing clients who mention a scar, build a small portfolio with written consent and then introduce the service to plastic surgeons, dermatologists and OB-GYNs in Johnson County and Wichita. The course covers honest consultations and record keeping, and never promises results.
How the course fits a Kansas beauty business
Kansas artists who already hold the right Board of Cosmetology license and work in a licensed establishment can usually add camouflage as a new specialist service, after confirming with the board.
The course covers the full basics of camouflage, learning on practice skin, theory, machine and ink, pigment chemistry basics, and the business side: finding your audience, building a pricing strategy you set yourself, and spacing sessions properly. You can add the training kit, you receive a SKINEAV Certificate of Completion, and you get six months of mentorship with Evelyn afterwards. It does not promise clients or income. It gives you a skill, a method and someone to ask when a real case comes in.
See the US course overview for the full curriculum and format.
Licensing note: the SKINEAV Certificate of Completion shows you finished Evelyn's training. It is not a state license, permit or registration. Before you tattoo anyone in the US, check and follow the rules of your state, county and city.
