Paramedical camouflage course for Texas artists, live 1:1 on Zoom
One-on-one scar and stretch mark camouflage training on Zoom for artists in Houston, Dallas–Fort Worth, Austin, San Antonio and across Texas. Live with Evelyn, one hour behind Toronto.

Camouflage training for Texas artists
Texas has four of the largest metro areas in the US and a fast-growing permanent makeup industry. Houston, Dallas–Fort Worth, San Antonio and Austin each have busy PMU studios, med spas and cosmetic surgery practices, but far fewer artists who specialise in scar and stretch mark camouflage. For an artist who already does brows and lips, that gap is an opportunity to offer something different.
The SKINEAV 1:1 Zoom course teaches the full camouflage process, from assessing a scar to mixing pigment that suits the client's skin tone, in private live sessions with Evelyn.
Tuition: $2,997 USD for the live online 1:1 Zoom course taught from Canada, or $3,697 USD with the training kit shipped to the US. Payment plans are available, e.g. $500 deposit + 3 x $999. See the US course page for what is included.
How tattoo and permanent cosmetics licensing works in Texas
Texas regulates tattooing mainly at the studio level. The Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) requires any business that tattoos to hold a tattoo studio license, and its licensing requirements page states that this includes permanent cosmetics, microblading and intradermal cosmetic studios.
The legal definition comes from Chapter 146 of the Texas Health and Safety Code, which defines tattooing as inserting pigment under the skin and says the term includes permanent cosmetics. Camouflage tattooing fits that definition. In practice, that means you need to work from a DSHS-licensed studio, or license your own, and follow the state's rules on sterilisation, records and minors. Cities can also add zoning and permit requirements.
Always check the current DSHS pages before you start. The SKINEAV Certificate of Completion is proof of training only. It is not a Texas license and does not replace studio licensing.
Real training moments

Where Texas camouflage clients are
- Houston: the most diverse major city in the US, with a large medical centre and many cosmetic surgery practices
- Dallas–Fort Worth: the largest metro in the state, with a strong PMU and med spa market
- San Antonio: a large Hispanic community, where clients often have olive and medium-brown undertones that need careful matching
- Austin: a young, fast-growing city with demand for aesthetic services
- El Paso and the Rio Grande Valley: fewer specialists, so less competition
Across Texas, many camouflage clients come after C-sections, tummy tucks and breast surgery, or with stretch marks after pregnancy. The course covers each of these. See how skin colour matching works.

Questions Texas artists ask before training
"I already do microblading. Is camouflage very different?" Yes. Microblading places fine strokes in facial skin. Camouflage blends a flat, skin-toned colour into scar tissue or stretch marks on the body, which takes up pigment differently and often needs more than one session. Evelyn starts by showing you how to read the scar: its colour, texture, age and whether it is fully healed and stable.
"Will the heat and sun affect my clients' results?" Texas summers are long and bright. Tanned skin around a camouflaged area can change how the match looks, so the course covers timing sessions, sun advice for clients and when to wait before a touch-up.
"Can I offer camouflage in Spanish?" Many Texas artists work with Spanish-speaking clients. The consultation templates you build in the course can be written in whichever language you use with clients, and Evelyn will review them with you during mentorship.
Scheduling from Texas
Most of Texas is on Central Time, one hour behind Evelyn in Toronto. A session at 9 a.m. in Houston or Dallas is 10 a.m. in Toronto. The El Paso area is on Mountain Time, two hours behind. Sessions are booked in your local time and confirmed in writing.
How the course fits a Texas PMU or tattoo business
Because Texas licenses the studio, most students add camouflage as a new service in the studio where they already work. The course covers consultations, photographing scars, spacing sessions, and setting your own prices. It does not promise clients or income. It gives you technique, colour-matching skills and six months of mentorship while you build your portfolio.
See the US course overview for the full curriculum.
Licensing note: the SKINEAV Certificate of Completion shows you finished Evelyn's training. It is not a state license, permit or registration. Before you tattoo anyone in the US, check and follow the rules of your state, county and city.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a license to do camouflage tattooing in Texas?
Texas DSHS requires tattoo studios, including permanent cosmetics and microblading studios, to be licensed. Camouflage is tattooing under Texas law, so work from a licensed studio and check the official DSHS pages.
Is the SKINEAV certificate a Texas license?
No. It is a Certificate of Completion for the training. It does not replace DSHS studio licensing or any local permit.
What time are sessions for Texas students?
Most of Texas is on Central Time, one hour behind Toronto. El Paso is two hours behind.
Can I train from a med spa in Houston or Dallas?
Yes, as long as the place you will tattoo is properly licensed. Many students add camouflage to an existing licensed studio.
Is the course live?
Yes. It is live, one-on-one with Evelyn on Zoom, with six months of mentorship afterwards.
