One-on-one scar and stretch mark camouflage training on Zoom for artists in Minneapolis, St. Paul, Rochester, Duluth and across Minnesota. Live with Evelyn from Canada, scheduled around Central Time.

Camouflage training for Minnesota artists
Minnesota is known around the world for medicine. Rochester is home to one of the most famous medical centres anywhere, and the Twin Cities have large hospital systems and a thriving medical device industry. That means many people living with surgical scars, from heart and spine surgery to breast reconstruction. Minneapolis and St. Paul also have respected tattoo studios and a growing PMU scene. Camouflage specialists, though, are still few.
The SKINEAV 1:1 Zoom course teaches licensed Minnesota artists to add the service carefully. In private live sessions, Evelyn covers assessment, custom colour matching for very fair to deep skin, safe technique on scar tissue and honest client consultations.
Tuition: $2,997 USD for the live online 1:1 Zoom course taught from Canada, or $3,697 USD with the training kit shipped to the US. Payment plans are available, e.g. $500 deposit + 3 x $999. See the US course page for what is included.
How body art licensing works in Minnesota
Minnesota licenses body art technicians individually through the Minnesota Department of Health under Chapter 146B of state law. According to the department's Body Art Technician Licensing page, applicants for a tattoo technician license must be at least 18, complete 200 hours of supervised tattooing, submit a log and a notarized affidavit from their supervisor, and show a current bloodborne pathogens course. New artists start with a temporary technician license while they complete the supervised hours, and guest licenses exist for visiting artists.
The department's apprenticeship and supervisor information notes that tattooing on synthetic skin, drawing and consulting do not count toward supervised hours. Establishments are also licensed, although some cities and counties, including Minneapolis, regulate establishments themselves. Chapter 146B also lists some licensed health professionals who may perform body art within their scope of practice.
Confirm with the department how your license applies to camouflage before you offer it. The SKINEAV Certificate of Completion is proof of training. It is not a Minnesota technician license, and course time does not count as supervised hours.
Real training moments

Where Minnesota camouflage clients are
- Minneapolis: Uptown, North Loop, Edina and the western suburbs, the state's largest beauty market
- St. Paul: Grand Avenue, Highland Park and the eastern suburbs
- Rochester: patients and medical staff from around the world, many with surgical scars
- Duluth: a regional centre for northern Minnesota with very few specialists
- St. Cloud and Mankato: growing regional markets
Minnesota winters leave skin very pale for months, so colour planning matters. Read how colour matches change over time and open heart surgery scar camouflage.

What Minnesota artists ask before enrolling
"I'm on a temporary technician license. Can I take the course?" You can learn theory and practise on practice skin, but client work stays within the terms of your temporary license and your supervisor. Talk to your supervisor before planning any camouflage cases.
"I'm a nurse in Minnesota. Do I need a technician license?" Chapter 146B lists some licensed health professionals who may perform body art within their scope of practice. Whether camouflage falls within your scope is a question for the department and your nursing board, not for us.
"Skin here is very pale in winter and tanned in summer. How do I match colour?" The course teaches you to read undertone rather than surface colour and to choose a slightly conservative match, so camouflage still blends as skin changes through the year.
Scheduling from Minnesota
Minnesota is on Central Time, one hour behind Toronto. A 9 a.m. session in Minneapolis is 10 a.m. for Evelyn. Times are confirmed in writing in both zones.
What a training week can look like from Minnesota
A typical week has one theory session on undertone, seasonal skin change and scar assessment, and one live practice session on practice skin, where Evelyn watches on camera and corrects your angle, depth and saturation. Between sessions you build a consultation form and aftercare instructions and practise photographing work in consistent light.
Your first camouflage clients in Minnesota
Most Minnesota graduates start with existing clients who mention a scar, then build a small portfolio with written consent. In a state with so many hospitals, careful documentation helps when you later introduce yourself to surgeons and physical therapists. The course covers honest consultations and never promises results.
How the course fits a Minnesota beauty business
Licensed Minnesota technicians working in a licensed establishment can usually add camouflage as a new specialist service, after confirming with the department.
The course covers the full basics of camouflage, learning on practice skin, theory, machine and ink, pigment chemistry basics, and the business side: finding your audience, building a pricing strategy you set yourself, and spacing sessions properly. You can add the training kit, you receive a SKINEAV Certificate of Completion, and you get six months of mentorship with Evelyn afterwards. It does not promise clients or income. It gives you a skill, a method and someone to ask when a real case comes in.
See the US course overview for the full curriculum and format.
Licensing note: the SKINEAV Certificate of Completion shows you finished Evelyn's training. It is not a state license, permit or registration. Before you tattoo anyone in the US, check and follow the rules of your state, county and city.
