Results vary. Outcomes depend on skin tone, the type and age of the mark, the area and individual healing. Camouflage softens colour contrast; it does not change texture. All photos are real SKINEAV clients.

From Evelyn

A note from Evelyn about vitiligo camouflage

Vitiligo is personal. Some people love their patches, some want them softer, and some only want help in one area, like the hands or the face. Whatever you choose is the right choice for you.

I only work on vitiligo that has been stable for a while, and I'll ask you about that at the start. If camouflage isn't right for your skin yet, I'll tell you, and I'll explain why.

Evelyn Founder and camouflage artist, SKINEAV

I'll always be honest about this

Is vitiligo camouflage right for you?

It's often a good fit if

  • Your vitiligo is stable and has not changed in recent months
  • The patches have clear edges
  • You have discussed camouflage with your dermatologist

I may suggest waiting if

  • Vitiligo that is actively spreading or changing
  • Any recent new patches (skin injury can trigger new patches in active vitiligo)
  • Irritated or broken skin in the area

What to expect

How vitiligo camouflage works, step by step

From the first photo you send me to the healed result. No surprises along the way.

Send me a photo first
  1. Consultation

We talk about how stable it is, where the patches are, what you'd like and which shades we'd need.

  2. Colour matching

I blend pigments against your own tone and undertone.

  3. Application

I place them carefully to soften the patch against the skin around it.

  4. Aftercare & touch-ups

Skin changes over time, so touch-ups may be needed later on.

What it is and who it affects

About vitiligo

Vitiligo causes areas of skin to lose pigment, leaving lighter patches that can appear anywhere: hands, face, elbows, knees, feet. Other forms of hypopigmentation, after injury or inflammation, can look similar.

It is common, it is not contagious, and it can still shape how confident you feel day to day.

What I do at SKINEAV

What I offer is cosmetic camouflage only. I soften the visible contrast of patches that are stable. It doesn't treat the condition or change it, and your dermatologist is still your guide for that. Not every case should be tattooed, and if yours is one of them, I'll tell you.

Cost

How pricing works

Every plan is personal. The price depends on the area, the size, the colours involved, your skin's texture and how many sessions you'll need. That's why there's no price list here. You'll get every detail, including a clear quote for your case, before you commit to anything.

Starting costs nothing: a phone consult or a photo assessment is free. If you'd like to come in, the in-clinic consult is $50 plus HST, and it's credited to your treatment if you go ahead. Multi-session plans are available, so ask me about payment options.

Good questions

Questions about vitiligo camouflage

These are the questions I get asked most. If yours isn’t here, call or text and ask me.

Call +1 (437) 475-2757 All questions
Does camouflage treat vitiligo?

No. It is cosmetic. It softens the visible contrast of lighter patches and does not change the condition.

What does "stable" mean?

Generally, that your patches have not grown, spread or changed in recent months. Evelyn will ask about this at your consultation.

Will the colour match in summer and winter?

Your skin may tan or lighten with the seasons while the pigment stays the same, so contrast can change through the year. The blend is planned with this in mind.

Will I need touch-ups?

Often, yes. Skin changes over time and pigment can soften.

Does it work on darker skin tones?

Pigments are custom-blended for every skin tone, from fair to deep. Suitability is always confirmed in person.

How long does it last?

It's pigment placed in the skin, so it doesn't wash off like makeup. Like any cosmetic tattoo it can soften over the years, with sun and as your skin renews itself, so a touch-up may be recommended later on. Daily sun protection on the area helps it last.

Will it look natural, or like a tattoo?

The goal is a soft blend toward your own skin, so that once it's healed it shouldn't read as a tattoo. That's why I mix the colour for you, test it on your skin first, and build it up gently, sometimes over more than one session.

Can you match my skin tone?

Every pigment is mixed for the person in my chair, from fair to deep skin, and tested against your tone and undertone before we start. If I don't think I can get a good match for your skin, I'll tell you at the consultation.

Is it safe?

It's a cosmetic tattoo procedure, done in a private treatment room at my clinic. We go through your health history first. If you're pregnant or breastfeeding, have an active skin condition, or your scar isn't fully healed, I'll ask you to wait or to check with your doctor before we start.

What if it doesn't work for me?

Then I'd rather tell you before you spend anything. That's what the free assessment and the colour test are for. Camouflage softens colour contrast and doesn't change texture, so I'll be honest about what's realistic for your skin. If you go ahead, we look at the result together at every session.
