Scalp micropigmentation in Vaughan & Toronto: density, done subtly
SMP places tiny, hair-follicle-sized impressions of pigment in the scalp. It is designed to add the look of density or a closely shaved hairline, matched to your hair colour and skin tone.

What scalp micropigmentation is
Scalp micropigmentation (SMP) is a cosmetic tattoo technique. Instead of drawing lines, the artist places thousands of fine dots that read like hair follicles or short stubble. On a shaved head it can recreate the look of a buzz cut and a defined hairline. On longer hair it can reduce the contrast between hair and scalp, so thinning areas look fuller.
SMP does not grow hair and it does not treat the cause of hair loss. It is a visual technique, and the best results come from realistic planning. Evelyn Alvares Vega is certified in scalp micropigmentation as well as camouflage tattooing, which helps when a scalp also has scars.
Who SMP may suit
- Men and women with thinning hair who want the scalp to show less
- People who keep their hair shaved or very short and want a fuller, sharper look
- People with stable patches from some types of alopecia, after speaking with their doctor
- People with hair transplant scars, such as a FUT strip line or FUE dots
Suitability is decided case by case. If your hair loss is changing quickly, or you have an active scalp condition, the first step is your doctor or dermatologist.
Real results and real moments

How a plan is built
Every plan starts with a free phone consult or photo review, then an in-clinic assessment. Evelyn looks at your hair colour, skin tone, scalp texture and the pattern of loss, and talks through the hairline or density you want. Shade is tested, and the work is usually built over more than one session so the density can be layered gradually and adjusted once each stage has healed.
Why it is done one-on-one
SKINEAV is a private clinic at 36 Bessemer Ct, Unit 1, Concord, Vaughan, with free parking near Highways 7, 407 and 400, serving Toronto and the GTA. Each appointment is one-on-one. The same careful colour work behind our scar camouflage applies here: the goal is a natural, believable look, not a painted one.

Frequently asked questions
Does SMP grow hair?
No. SMP is a cosmetic tattoo. It changes how the scalp looks, not how hair grows.
Is SMP permanent?
It is long-lasting pigment, but it softens over time, and touch-ups may be recommended over the years. Sun exposure plays a large part.
Does SMP hurt?
Most people describe it as uncomfortable rather than painful. Sensitivity varies by person and area.
Can SMP be done on women?
Yes, often to add density to thinning areas while keeping longer hair. Suitability is assessed individually.
