Camouflage training for Iowa artists
Iowa's beauty market is anchored in Des Moines, with secondary hubs in Cedar Rapids, Iowa City, the Quad Cities and Sioux City. Med spas and plastic surgery practices have grown, yet scar and stretch mark camouflage specialists remain uncommon.
The SKINEAV 1:1 Zoom course teaches Iowa artists scar and stretch mark assessment, custom colour matching, conservative technique on healed tissue, and honest consultations — live and private with Evelyn from Canada. It is not a video library.
Tuition: $2,997 USD for the live online 1:1 Zoom course taught from Canada, or $3,697 USD with the training kit shipped to the US. Payment plans are available, e.g. $500 deposit + 3 x $999. See the US course page for what is included.
How tattoo permitting works in Iowa
Iowa regulates tattoo artists and establishments through the Department of Inspections, Appeals, and Licensing. The official DIAL Tattoo Permitting page explains artist and establishment permits. At a high level, DIAL requires applicants to be at least 18, submit bloodborne pathogen and standard first-aid training (CPR/AED-only is not accepted), complete the tattoo artist application with the fee, and work in a permitted establishment. Establishments are inspected before opening and annually. Confirm current forms on the DIAL site. The SKINEAV Certificate of Completion is proof of training only — not an Iowa permit.

What Iowa artists ask before enrolling
"I only hold an esthetics license. Can I offer body camouflage?" Usually you need an Iowa tattoo artist permit and a permitted establishment. Confirm with DIAL.
"Does this Zoom course replace Iowa BBP requirements?" No. Complete training DIAL accepts. Our course is separate specialist training.
"Home studio?" Only if that location holds the right establishment permit.

What a training week can look like from Iowa
A typical week mixes one theory session on undertone and scar assessment with one live practice session on practice skin while Evelyn watches your hands on camera.
Your first camouflage clients in Iowa
Most Iowa graduates start with existing clients who mention a scar, then build a small consent-based portfolio. The course never promises results.
How the course fits a Iowa beauty business
Iowa artists who already hold a DIAL tattoo artist permit and work in a permitted establishment can usually add camouflage after confirming scope.
The course covers the full basics of camouflage, learning on practice skin, theory, machine and ink, pigment chemistry basics, and the business side: finding your audience, building a pricing strategy you set yourself, and spacing sessions properly. You can add the training kit, you receive a SKINEAV Certificate of Completion, and you get six months of mentorship with Evelyn afterwards. It does not promise clients or income. It gives you a skill, a method and someone to ask when a real case comes in.
See the US course overview for the full curriculum and format.
Licensing note: the SKINEAV Certificate of Completion shows you finished Evelyn's training. It is not a state license, permit or registration. Before you tattoo anyone in the US, check and follow the rules of your state, county and city.
