Arm lift scar camouflage: what to realistically expect
Brachioplasty scars are long and sit where sleeves stop hiding them. Here is how camouflage fits in.

What an arm lift scar looks like
An arm lift removes loose skin from the upper arm, often after major weight loss. The scar usually runs along the inner arm, sometimes from the elbow to the armpit. Over time many of these scars turn paler than the skin around them, and on medium and deep skin tones a pale line can be very noticeable.
When camouflage may help
- Sections of the scar that have healed flat and pale
- Mature scars, with no pinkness or tenderness left
- Clients who want the scar less visible in short sleeves, not erased
Long scars are rarely uniform. One part may be flat and pale while another is raised or wider. In that case I may only work on the suitable sections and tell you honestly what to expect from the rest.

When it is not the right option
Raised, thick or widened scars, keloids and scars still under follow-up with your surgeon are usually not suitable. Texture does not change with camouflage. If texture is your main concern, a conversation with your surgeon comes first. See camouflage vs scar revision surgery.
Timing after surgery
Body-contouring scars take time to mature. Many need well over a year. Weight should also be stable, because changes stretch the skin and the scar. The timing guide is in how long to wait after surgery.

Sessions and healing
A long scar is often done in stages, with healing time in between, and a follow-up to refine the colour. The inner arm rubs against the body, so loose sleeves and avoiding heavy sweating for the first days help. Read the healing timeline and how many sessions.
Frequently asked questions
Can arm lift scars be camouflaged?
Flat, pale and mature sections of a brachioplasty scar often can. Raised, widened or keloid sections usually cannot.
How long after an arm lift should I wait?
Until the scar is fully mature and your weight is stable. For many people that is more than a year after surgery.
Is the whole scar done in one session?
Long scars are often done in stages, with a follow-up to refine the colour.
Will it remove the scar?
No. Camouflage adds colour to make a pale scar less noticeable. It does not change texture or remove the scar.
