How long does a camouflage tattoo last?
Camouflage is a tattoo, so it does not wash off. It does soften over time, and how fast depends on a few things you can partly control.

Clients often ask whether camouflage is "permanent". The most accurate answer is: long-lasting, but not unchanging.
Why it softens
Pigment placed in the skin slowly breaks down over the years. Skin-toned pigments are lighter than the dark inks used in decorative tattoos, so a gradual change can be noticed sooner. Scar tissue can also hold pigment less evenly than normal skin.
“We don’t fix texture, we fix color.”

What affects how long it lasts
- Sun exposure: the biggest factor. UV light fades pigment and tans the skin around it.
- Your skin: how it heals and how quickly it renews.
- The area: places with more friction or sun change faster.
- Aftercare: following healing instructions helps pigment settle evenly.

Touch-ups
Some clients come back for a touch-up after some time to refresh the colour or adjust it if their skin has changed. Your plan and timing are discussed at your consultation.
