Scar and stretch mark camouflage: cost, sessions, timeline and financing
These are the questions people ask before they ever call a clinic: how much, how many sessions, how long, can I pay over time, what should I avoid, and should I treat the scar first. Here are straight answers from the Vaughan clinic — including the parts nobody likes to say.

How much does scar or stretch mark camouflage cost?
Your price depends on four things: how big the area is, how many marks there are, how different the scar colour is from your skin, and how your skin holds pigment. That is why two “small scars” can get very different quotes. A menu price that ignores those four things is a guess, not a quote.
Treatments usually start from $399 per session; your exact price is confirmed at the consult. Area size, number of marks, colour difference and how your skin holds pigment still decide the final quote.
At SKINEAV you get a clear price for your case before you commit to anything. Camouflage is cosmetic, so plan it as a self-pay treatment. More detail: how much does scar camouflage cost, stretch mark camouflage price in Vaughan and the price-shopping checklist.
What do I pay before I get my price?
Nothing for the first step. The phone consult with Evelyn is free (437-475-2757), and so is the photo assessment. If you want to be seen in person, the in-clinic consultation in Vaughan is $50 plus HST, and that amount is credited to your treatment if you go ahead. At that visit Evelyn checks your skin, tests a colour on it and gives you the plan and the price.
Real results and real moments

How many sessions will I need?
Small, flat, pale scars sometimes need one session. Most people need more than one, because scar tissue holds colour unevenly and the colour is built in layers — lighter first, then adjusted once it has healed. Larger areas, many stretch marks, or scars with uneven texture usually need more.
You get an estimate of sessions at the consultation. It is an estimate, not a promise. See how many sessions scar camouflage takes and stretch mark sessions.
How long does the whole process take, start to finish?
1. Wait until the scar is mature. New scars and red or purple stretch marks are not ready. The scar should be closed, soft, and no longer changing colour. After surgery, follow your surgeon’s advice first (how long after surgery).
2. Free call or photo, then the in-clinic consult and colour test.
3. First session. The area looks pink and brighter on the day — that is normal.
4. Heal and review. After about six weeks the colour has settled and Evelyn reviews the healed result with you (healing timeline).
5. Follow-up sessions if needed, spaced several weeks apart. If you have a date in mind — a wedding, a holiday, a beach trip — tell Evelyn early so the plan fits (wedding timeline).

Is there financing or a payment plan? Does insurance cover it?
Insurance usually does not. In Ontario, OHIP does not cover cosmetic camouflage and private plans rarely do — check with your insurer in writing, but plan to pay yourself (does insurance cover scar camouflage).
Because camouflage is often done over several sessions, you usually pay session by session rather than all at once. If budget matters, say so on the free call (437-475-2757) and ask what payment options are available for your case. Avoid high-interest financing you don’t fully understand (payment plans in Vaughan).
What mistakes should I avoid?
The expensive ones: booking too early on a fresh scar, choosing by the lowest sticker price, trusting fresh photos instead of healed ones, and judging the result before it has healed. We wrote them all out here: scar and stretch mark camouflage mistakes to avoid.
Should I treat the scar first, or camouflage it?
Ask yourself what bothers you most: the texture or the colour. Camouflage changes colour. It does not flatten raised scars, fill dips or erase anything. As Evelyn says, “We don’t fix texture, we fix color.”
If texture is the main problem — a raised, thick or deeply pitted scar — a doctor or dermatologist is the right first stop (laser, injections, microneedling). If the scar is flat or nearly flat and the problem is that it is lighter or darker than your skin, camouflage is often the more direct route. Some people do both: texture treatment first, colour later, once the skin has fully recovered. Compare: laser vs camouflage, does microneedling remove scars, keloids.
My camouflage looks too light or too dark — fix it or start over?
First, wait until it has healed — fresh colour lies. Too light is usually the easier case: more colour can often be added at a follow-up. Too dark, or the wrong undertone, takes more care and sometimes cannot be corrected with more pigment. Never try to “fix” it at home. Send healed daylight photos and your session history, and you will get an honest answer, including “this is not something we should touch.” See too light and too dark.
