Camouflage tattoo course with no experience
You do not need to be a tattoo artist to start. Here is what a beginner should know before choosing a course.

Can a complete beginner start?
Yes. The 1:1 Private Training is designed for complete beginners as well as experienced artists who want to specialise. It is paced around your level. Many students come from other careers: mothers starting a new chapter, nurses, estheticians and beauty business owners. See camouflage careers for mothers and nurses changing career.
What a beginner learns
- Skin, scars, stretch marks and vitiligo: how they form and how to assess them
- Undertones, colour theory and custom pigment matching
- Needle choice, depth and technique for scar tissue and stretch marks
- Client consultations, consent, contraindications and aftercare
- Marketing basics: portfolio, social media and getting your first clients
Real results and real moments

How the training is set up
Courses run over 3 intensive days of about 5 to 7 hours each, in person in Vaughan or live online via Zoom. You choose 1:1 Private Training or Small-Group Training with no more than 5 students. In-person courses include supervised, hands-on practice on real live models. Compare formats in private vs group training and online vs in person.
What you leave with
- Your SKINEAV certification
- All the equipment you need to start your own business
- Six months of mentorship after the course
Certification is not the same as a provincial licence. Before you take clients, check the health and premises rules in your municipality. Read paramedical tattoo rules in Ontario and certification in Canada.
Questions to ask before you enrol
Ask any course how much hands-on time you get, whether you practise on live models, and what support you have after. I listed more in questions to ask before a paramedical course. Investment, dates and payment options are explained on a free call.
