Treatment · What to expect
Your first camouflage session: what to expect, step by step
Knowing exactly what happens takes most of the nerves away. Here is a first session at the Vaughan clinic, from the moment you arrive to the weeks after.

Most clients tell me afterwards that the worst part was the waiting beforehand. So here is the whole visit, in order, with nothing left out.
Before the day
You will already have had a phone consult or a consultation, and we will have agreed on the area and a realistic goal. Read how to prepare: eat beforehand, skip alcohol the night before, keep the area out of the sun, and wear something comfortable and loose over the area. See what to wear.
“We don’t fix texture, we fix color.”
Evelyn Alvares Vega, founder of SKINEAV
Arriving at the clinic
The clinic is at 36 Bessemer Ct, Unit 1, in Concord, Vaughan, with free parking at the door. You check in at reception, and I take you to the private treatment room. It is just the two of us.
Real results and real moments

Checking the skin and the colour
I look at the area again in good light, because skin can change between visits. If we did a colour test before, I check how it healed. Then I mix the formula for the session and test it on your skin so we both see it before I begin.
How it works at SKINEAV
- Photo or callSend a photo or book a free phone consult. Honest first answer.
- Assessment & colour testIn clinic, Evelyn checks your skin and tests a custom formula.
- TreatmentPigment placed precisely, only where it is needed, one-on-one.
- Heal & reviewThe colour settles over weeks; follow-ups are planned if needed.
Preparing the area
I clean the area and may mark the edges of what we are treating. Clients often ask if they can watch. You can, or you can look at your phone, talk, or close your eyes.
The treatment itself
I place the pigment only where the skin is lighter, section by section. Most people describe the feeling as a light scratching. We pause whenever you want. How long it takes depends on the size of the area.
The fresh result is not the final result. Right after a session the area often looks stronger, pinker or darker than it will once healed.
Before you leave
I explain aftercare in plain words and give it to you in writing. We look at the area together, and I tell you what the next weeks will look like and when we will review it.
The first days
The area can feel warm and look slightly raised or pink. Keep it clean, follow the aftercare guide, wear loose clothing and keep it out of the sun.
The following weeks
The colour settles gradually. It is normal for it to look uneven at some point during healing. Once the area has healed, we look at it together and decide whether a follow-up session would help.
| Stage | What you may notice |
|---|---|
| Right after | Stronger colour, pinkness, mild warmth |
| First days | Slight tenderness; keep clean, loose clothing, no sun |
| Following weeks | Colour settles and softens |
| After healing | Review together; plan a follow-up if needed |
Frequently asked questions
Can I watch during my camouflage session?
Yes, if you want to. Many clients prefer to talk, look at their phone or close their eyes.
Why does my camouflage look darker right after the session?
Fresh skin is often pink or swollen and the pigment looks stronger. The real result shows after healing.
Will I need another session?
Sometimes. After healing, you review the area with Evelyn and decide together whether a follow-up would help.
