Facelift scar camouflage: around the ears and hairline
Facelift scars are designed to hide, but some heal pale or shift with the hairline. Here is when camouflage may help.

Where facelift scars are
Facelift and neck-lift incisions usually run in front of the ear, around the earlobe, behind the ear and into or along the hairline. When they heal well they are hard to see. Sometimes they heal pale, slightly wider, or end up visible when the hair is worn up.
When camouflage may help
- Flat, pale sections of scar in front of or behind the ear
- Mature scars with no redness
- Small areas where the line catches the eye when hair is tied back
Where a scar runs into the hairline, scalp micropigmentation-style techniques may sometimes be more relevant than skin camouflage. I will tell you which, if either, makes sense.
Real results and real moments

When it is not suitable
Raised, red or still-changing scars, keloids, and anything your surgeon is still following up are not suitable. Neither are concerns about the shape of the earlobe or tension, which camouflage does not change. See camouflage vs scar revision.
Why the face needs extra care
Facial skin is thinner, often more reactive, and seen up close. I work conservatively and build colour gradually, because it is easier to add than to take away. More in facial scar camouflage and camouflage on mature skin.
How it works at SKINEAV

- Assessment & colour testIn clinic, Evelyn checks your skin and tests a custom formula.
- TreatmentPigment placed precisely, only where it is needed, one-on-one.

Timing and healing
Wait until scars are fully mature and your surgeon agrees. After a session keep the area clean, avoid makeup, hair dye and hot tools near it for the first days, and protect it from sun. Full steps: aftercare.
Frequently asked questions
Can facelift scars be camouflaged?
Flat, pale and fully mature sections often can. Raised, red or keloid scars usually cannot.
Can you work in the hairline?
Sometimes a different technique suits the hairline better. This is decided at assessment.
Is facial camouflage more conservative?
Yes. Colour is built gradually on the face, with a follow-up to refine it.
How long after a facelift should I wait?
Until the scars are mature and your surgeon has no concerns. That often takes a year or more.
