Stretch marks on the buttocks: can camouflage help?
The buttocks and upper glutes are one of the most common places for stretch marks, and one of the areas people feel most self-conscious about in swimwear. Here is an honest look.

Why stretch marks appear here
The buttocks and hips change size quickly during puberty, pregnancy, weight changes and strength training. When skin stretches faster than it can adapt, marks form. They usually start pink, red or purple and slowly fade to white or silver over months or years.
Which marks may suit camouflage
- Mature marks that are white, silver or lighter than your skin
- Flat marks, or marks with only slight texture
- Stable weight, and not pregnant or breastfeeding
Red or purple marks are still active and usually need time first. Read red vs white stretch marks and stretch marks on the thighs and hips.
Real results and real moments

What camouflage does and does not do
Camouflage adds custom-mixed, skin-toned pigment into pale marks so their colour blends closer to the skin around them. It works on colour, not texture, and it does not remove the marks. The goal is that they draw less attention, which is a realistic and often meaningful change. Results vary from person to person.
Healing when you sit all day
This area is harder to rest than an arm or a leg. In the first days after a session, loose cotton clothing, avoiding long hot baths, pools and saunas, and not sitting on rough surfaces all help. If you work at a desk, plan a session before a quieter few days. Full steps are in the aftercare guide and stretch mark healing guide.

Frequently asked questions
Can you tattoo over stretch marks on the buttocks?
Pale, mature stretch marks on the buttocks may suit camouflage tattooing. A colour test comes first, and not every mark is suitable.
Will the stretch marks disappear?
No one can promise that. The aim is to blend the colour of suitable marks so they are less noticeable.
Is it private?
Yes. Sessions are one-on-one in a private room at the Vaughan clinic.
How many sessions will I need?
Most clients need more than one session with healing time between. You get an honest estimate at the assessment.
