What if I gain weight or get pregnant after stretch mark camouflage?
One of the most practical questions people ask before stretch mark camouflage is: what happens if my body changes afterwards? A pregnancy, a muscle-building phase or a weight change can all affect the skin. Here is an honest answer so you can plan.

New marks can still form
Camouflage colours existing pale marks. It does not change how your skin responds to stretching. If your skin stretches quickly again, new marks can appear, including in areas that were treated. There is no way to know in advance whether a future pregnancy or weight change will cause new marks for you.
Camouflaged marks can change too
If treated skin stretches, the pigmented area can stretch with it, and the blend may look different. Your skin tone can also change, for example with pregnancy-related darkening, a tan, or ageing, while the pigment stays the same, making contrast more noticeable. Sometimes a touch-up can rebalance things later; sometimes not. Results vary.
Real results and real moments

If you’re planning a pregnancy
Many people choose to wait until after their last planned pregnancy and after they have finished breastfeeding. Camouflage is not done during pregnancy or while breastfeeding, as a precaution. See pregnancy and scar camouflage and camouflage after breastfeeding.
If you’re bulking, cutting or losing weight
The best results come on a stable body. If you are in the middle of a big weight change, finish that first and let your weight settle for a while. Athletes who expect to gain size in a particular area, for example shoulders or thighs, may want to treat only areas that are unlikely to keep growing. See stretch mark camouflage for how the process works.

Frequently asked questions
Will pregnancy ruin my stretch mark camouflage?
Not necessarily, but new marks can form and treated areas can change. Many people wait until their family is complete.
Can I get touch-ups if my body changes?
Often, yes, once your body is stable again. Evelyn will reassess and tell you honestly what is realistic.
Should I wait to reach my goal weight?
Generally yes. Camouflage works best when your weight has been stable for a while.
How do I find out if my stretch marks are suitable?
Call 437-475-2757 for a free phone consult with Evelyn, or send clear daylight photos through the free assessment page. She will tell you honestly whether your marks are mature enough and whether colour matching is likely to help.
