Pale patches after laser tattoo removal
Removing an old tattoo can sometimes leave a ghost outline, a pale patch or a scar. Here is where camouflage may fit in.

What can be left behind
After laser removal some people are left with skin that is lighter than before (hypopigmentation), a faint outline, or textured scarring. Some of these change on their own over time, so the first step is patience and a conversation with the clinic that did the removal.
When camouflage may help
- The area has fully settled and is no longer changing
- The patch is pale and flat
- No more laser sessions are planned on that area

When it is not the right option
If there is still old tattoo ink, camouflage pigment will not hide it reliably. Raised or textured scars are usually not suitable either. In those cases I will tell you honestly.
Testing first
Laser-treated skin can hold pigment differently, so a small colour test and healing check come before any full session. See scar tissue and pigment retention.

Frequently asked questions
Can you tattoo over a laser removal scar?
Sometimes, if the area is flat, pale and fully healed. A test is done first.
How long after laser removal should I wait?
Until the skin has fully settled and no more sessions are planned. Ask the clinic that did the removal too.
Will it hide leftover ink?
Usually not reliably. Camouflage is best for pale areas, not for covering dark leftover ink.
Do you serve Toronto clients?
Yes, from the private clinic in Vaughan.
